Iphone 2.2 OS re-locks unlocked phones

I don’t run an Iphone, but I do run an hacked Windows Mobile 6.0 phone.

Heads up!

iPhone 2.2 OS re-locks (some) legitimately unlocked iPhones

by Jacob Schulman, posted Dec 3rd 2008 at 12:42PM

Uh oh — closing holes is all well and good, but it looks like Apple may have closed one too many holes in the iPhone’s firmware this time around. In a possible attempt to discourage intrepid iPhone unlockers, it seems like the bigwigs in Cupertino accidentally relocked some legitimately unlocked units. Users in Apple’s support forums report have been having mixed results, with some users no worse for the wear and others only able to make emergency calls. So if you’ve got an unlocked iPhone (and would prefer not to have to ship it to Vietnam) maybe you should resist the urge to hit that update button until this situation gets sorted out. Either way, be sure to sound off in the comments if you’ve got an unlocked iPhone and have successfully (or unsuccessfully) upgraded.

 touch grind is gnarly

Tg

Touch Grind is a game that mimics fingerboarding. It loads fast and has pretty cool controls. It is taking me a while to get the hang of it though. Seems like there are diff boards you can get and levels. It is only $4.99 right now and will go up I bet.

Eeee

the 2.2 quickpwn works really well. I did not need to resync and it kept the data from cydia programs :)

AT&T rolled out 3G in Lincoln and Omaha

3G

LJS article

Attention iPhone users — AT&T’s 3G network is now available in Lincoln and Omaha.

The data transmission network was switched on at midnight Tuesday in the two cities and is fully operational.

3G will allow iPhone users and AT&T subscribers with other phones that have browsers to connect to the Internet at DSL speeds, a much faster connection than the “Edge” data transmission system previously in place, said Ben Nguyen of AT&T SouthPointe.

3G also penetrates buildings far better than the previous connection, he said.

The 3G network in eastern Nebraska only covers the major cities, Nguyen said.

“It’s just going to be Lincoln and Omaha,” he said. “When you get out into the smaller places, it’s not going to be there. But it’s going strong in Lincoln.”

it averages 6 X faster than the edge network here at work. Faster than the wireless :)

A cheerleader horn for your iphone.

Your iPhone, that is — and without using speakers. AirCurve is a cleverly-designed acoustic amplifier that turns your iPhone into a no-power-drain alarm clock on your nightstand, or a mini sound system that never needs batteries or adapters.

AirCurve looks like a simple, elegantly minimal stand for your iPhone. But inside is a coiled waveguide “horn’ that collects the sound from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, amplifies it (by about 10 decibels), and projects it into the room. AirCurve’s waveguide has been mathematically engineered to deliver amazing amplification — you’ll swear there are full-sized speakers in there. And AirCurve’s see-through translucent polycarbonate body lets you appreciate the graceful curves inside that do all the work.

Gerth

It is quite an experience using it on the iphone. Seems to be faster than google maps actually. The multi touch is strange to get used to since it is so sensitive. I was having a hard time till I figured out it was using the accelerometer as well. Darn cool.

Pretty cool actually. Waaaay easier than using the reg site. I use an app called mobile photos to upload pics to flickr, but this mobile flickr app makes it easy to browse and check out other flickr fun.

it has been nice knowing you all. Linerider on the iphone

Yup it is on the iphone and even cooler than on the PC. The controls are easy as heck. A shift button makes moving around awesome. I could review it or something, but if you have an iphone and have played linerider I really cannot tell you anything morethan get this.

Seriously I hope to communicate sometime soon.

A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.
