Steam controller

The Steam Controller
I got in on the first pre-order
It is pretty darn cool.
There are two trackpads that give a haptic rumble when you use them like your phone when you type. They are also buttons.
The wings underneath on the battery cover are also buttons. COmes in handy so you do not have to take your thumb off the trackpads to jump / reload. (pic below) They are made to make it fel like a PC gaming experience like using a mouse and WASD.
Folks say it takes a bit to get used to over normal gamepads, but for me I never really used regular gamepads and it just feels right. Aiming on a gamepad frustrated me.
I plugged it in and right away I was using the trackpad like a mouse and surfing the web with it. Super cool
You still have the analog stick, but this is super customization with keybindings and the left trackpad can function like the analog stick easily.

Portal 2 is awesome with it

Catlateral Damage

Be the cat
Swat that stuff

Catlateral Damage is a first person mischievous cat simulator, where your objective is to knock as many of your loving owners belongings onto the floor within a 2 minute time limit.
It’s a fun little game, and there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had from knocking things over and making a mess (That’s probably why cats do it in the first place). The dev plans to add more levels (rooms) to destroy, but at the Alpha gives you free reign to destroy your owners bedroom for 2 mins.

Catlateral Damage is a free game you can play in a browser or download to your computer. Right mouse is right paw, left click left paw. Go destroy

made a wooden pinball box with a makey makey

The long awaited makey makey showed up Friday. I played around with it some and then got an idea to build a wooden box to be a controller for the virtual pinball I play on my PC. Got some scraps from the garage and built it. I have a launch, credit, start, and the flipper buttons alligator clipped to the makey makey which is connected via USB to my computer. Before I was playing on the keyboard and this feels so much better. They sell cards to hook arcade buttons to a computer that have more options, but for a test run the makey makey got the job done.

Nintendo 3DS is awesome

Theresa got a 3DS for xmas and we have been playing the heck out of it. The 3D without glasses is crazy to see. At times when playing it becomes hard to hold the thing correctly to see the 3D. So for games like Mario Kart 7 it makes it easier to turn the 3D down, but in Mario land it is very impressive. That thing is going to get a lot of use.

Super Mario 3D land is a ton of fun. It is familiar, but they play around with the 3D all sorts of ways. I was laughing and the oohs and ahhhhs were constant. I am over half way done, but need to go back and collect a few more coins. The levels are pretty short and not all that difficult so you do not need to be a great player to have fun.
