First my woot off checker got me in trouble, but I am apparently still a pain in their behinds. It has to do with all the dead links out there from the automatix and beryl repo’s I hosted. peeps would link directly to a certain package and not realize that the packages changed often. So they would hit my 404 page. Well the 404 page was built by wordpress, used php, and looked like my blog but with a 404 post I had modified which put strain on the shared server BorK is hosted on.
So I switched to a generic HTML 404 page with some info on it. And am working with T on a way to completely block incoming links to the old repo’s. Any of you website geeks have any ideas? We figure it will be something in the appache .htaccess file.
I would very much like to keep my website.
