Lincoln police and fire officials were preparing to get a submerged vehicle out of Holmes Lake on Wednesday afternoon.
Ice fishermen reported seeing the vehicle beneath the ice around noon Wednesday.
Authorities said they’ve had no recent reports of a missing person or vehicle in the area.
The vehicle is visible beneath the surface near the observatory on the southwest part of the lake. It appears to be about 20 feet out from the boat ramp and looks like a pickup truck.
Matt Mittelstadt, a Southeast District supervisor for Lincoln Parks and Recreation, said he saw tire tracks on the ramp about a week ago.
