Rode into work this morning. The packed down white snow was crunchy enough to provide excellent traction. The squishy loose brown / gray snow piles were like riding on jello. I made it to Centennial mall the bus route and it was really squishy slush. I could see the salt chunks doing their thang. Heading home I could see the insane salt crust beaming white coating the chain and frame.
Carried my salt soaked bike and threw it in the shower for a cleaning. Does riding a below freezing aluminum bike increase the possibility of cracking welds?
