pumpkin pie from actual pumpkin


Came out pretty good. Theresa did not take pics of her mixing it up, but she learned that the recipe needs more stuff.

2 cups of mashed cooked pumpkin
1 can of evaporated milk
2 large eggs
3/4 cup of packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/4 teaspon of nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of salt

375 for 50 minutes

Theresa got this pumpkin from the farmers market. She chopped it up and put it in a pan with a rack. Put some water in the bottom to steam it. Baked at 350 for 1:15/ Cut off the skin and food processored it up good. We ended up with enough to make 5 more pies. Freezer is getting full.






Not the fake orange I am used to, but it tasted pretty good. Made some whipped cream by whipping it up with some powdered sugar and vanilla.
