Olde Monk Porter Release at Bread and Cup from Modern Monks

As with every new beer we produce we partner up with a local restaurant and pair their product and ours in unique and delicious ways. The Modern Monks Olde Porter is no exception. With the help of Bread and Cup we will once again offer up our forbidden ales to be contemplated. The festivities start this Saturday May 16th at noon. The menu will be one that highlights both food and beer.

Smoky Tomato Soup $4–Smoke flavor comes from locally raised Roma tomatoes that have been hickory smoked over a low heat. Day old sourdough adds a little body and acidity.

Sweet Chipotle BBQ Beef Sandwich $7–Beef round slow roasted till fork tender, then mixed with our house made Sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce. Served on half ciabatta loaf.

Chocolate Bacon $4–Hickory smoked bacon dipped in 64% dark chocolate, then coated with toasted coconut and served with a dollop of crème fraiche. The bitter (chocolate), sweet (toasted coconut), salty (bacon) and sour (crème fraiche) fit the dark character of the beer.
