my first chocolate covered bacon from Bread & Cup


At the Modern Monks release party I tried some chocolate covered bacon at Bread & Cup.

Hickory smoked bacon dipped in 64% dark chocolate, then coated with toasted coconut and served with a dollop of crème fraiche. The bitter (chocolate), sweet (toasted coconut), salty (bacon) and sour (crème fraiche) fit the dark character of the beer.

It was pretty interesting. The bacon was really smoky, the choc dark, and the white stuff added a twang. The new beer was awesome as well.
