Starting at noon Sunday, 26 electric-powered vehicles built by high school students in their spare time will drive around a .39-mile track at the Nebraska Tractor Testing Lab on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus.

“What they have is a one- hour time trial. The winner is the one who completes the most laps in an hour. They have to balance speed vs. battery capacity,” said Dave Morgan, the lab’s assistant director.
