Benefits for Brogan Molnar

Picture 1

19‐month‐old Brogan Molnar has been recently diagnosed with a lymphatic malformation lesion (tumor) in his left orbit (behind his left eye). Little Brogan was born with this tumor which is strangling his optic nerve and putting pressure on his left eye causing him to lose his sight in it. As Brogan grows the more the lesion will grow and cause more health issues. He got his first pair of glasses when he was just 5 weeks old. In the past year and a half, he has seen many doctors and specialists anduntil recently they were not able to confirm what the lesion was. Brogan’s condition was misdiagnosed from birth.

By a miracle, the family has located a group of Endovascular surgeons in New York that feel that they can help Brogan with sclero therapy and removal of the lymphatic malformation lesion. Brogan will be traveling to Roosevelt Hospital in New York, NY on August 25, 2009 to prep for eye surgery and eye socket reconstruction surgery that will take place on August 28. He and his parents Michela and Tony will have to stay in NY for at least a week. They will have to travel back to New York six weeks after surgery for a check‐up and to start a regiment of steroid shots to help with the inflammation and healing process.

A little background on the family: To help pay all the medical bills, Tony works full‐time for a construction company, takes on side jobs, and watches their three children (all under the age of 3 ½) in the evenings. Michela works full‐time for Assurity Life, as well as a 20 hour‐a‐week part‐time job for a cable TV company. Brogan has a big sister (Ambree) and a little sister (Cali) that he loves to play with. He is a fun‐loving little boy that deserves a chance of having his sight!

We are asking for your assistance in helping this family get to and from New York and for helping pay the medical expenses not covered by insurance. This is a very invasive surgery which will require more than one surgeon and the lead surgeon is not an in‐network doctor on the family’s insurance, therefore they will be required to pay almost 50 percent of this doctor’s feesout‐of‐pocket as well as travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses that will be incurred.

There are some benefits that have been set up if you wish to assist Brogan.
