So this weekend the crew rolled up to the black hills of south dakota. If you have never been there  GO.
This was a great cycling event, it was very well done, 4 water stations each one had every thing water, powerade, hammer gel , peanutbutter and honey sandwiches. So we got up about 4 am and had a big breakfast and headed out the door bout an hour later we arrived in spearfish.
A total of 268 riders toed the line and off we went. After about 3 miles of gravel roads we hit the single track. This was some of the most challenging riding that i have ever done. Over 6,2oo feet of vertical climb and decent over 50 miles. Everything from pine trees to aspen stands. Thankfully at about the 42 mile mark and right before one of the most difficult descents of the day i rolled into the hobo camp at about 4,900 feet and the boys from the minneapolis mafia gave me the best beer i have ever consumed. Ice cold and i mean so cold you could not chug PBR. BEST BEER EVER….Â
So i suffered a bit but it was worth. The last mile friends, family and strangers were cheering you on. A micro brew pub supplied the beer for the afternoon and plenty of live music. I will try to never miss this one again.
