Gibson Lapsteel

Postby yeti » 21 Jun 2013, 00:33

I have this rule that for every new guitar I buy another one needs to go, so here's my '46 Gibson BR-3 lapsteel. It's a great guitar, I got it from SCS member Me-But-Better a few years ago and I just don't use it enough to keep it. $375 will buy it.

Sorry, Chris
I really like the BR-3 but I have a rule in my house (self-imposed, BTW) that keeps me from adding to my guitars, replacing is okay but the number needs to stay the same. The lapsteel isn't getting any playing time anymore and I just couldn't pass up on the opportunity to own one of my all-time favorite guitars. Something's got to go.

It's all good. I sold it for a similar reason. If I realistically thought I would play it as it deserves to be played I would buy it back. But I will never have the time to put into it like I should. So I won't.

Life goes on and someone will be stoked when they get it. It's a very cool piece.

I would really like this. Accepting trades? Or maybe trade something plus cash. I suppose not since you want to thin the herd.

I'm not trying to thin the herd, I'm trying to keep it from growing. 8)
I think it's a great instrument and should go to a good home. I'm not interested in trades but I'm not selling because I need cash. The point is that I want to offset the cost of my latest purchase and get back what I have invested in that Gibson. It doesn't matter to me whether I get rid of it now or 6 month from now. If you need some time to come up with the money I'm sure we can figure something out. Maybe you should check it out in person to see if it's the right guitar for you. I'd hate for it to eventually end up on ebay.

It sure is a cool piece that's for sure. I'm guessing I won't have the extra cash to buy it for at least another year. We're doing the Dave Ramsey thing and are in the process of paying off every single debt we have except for the house.

I'll go as low as $325.00 before the guitar goes to fleabay.

This doesn't issue whether I get rid of it now. If you need a while to come up with the cash I'm sure we can determine something out. Maybe you should examine it out in individual to see if it's the right instrument for you.
