A couple months back a friend posted pics of some pancakes she made for her daughter. They were chocolate pancakes with banana slices in them. They looked so delicious. Since then she has done funfetti pancakes, strawberry pancakes, and a couple days ago she started making designs. I could no longer resist the hankering. Actually I was just too lazy to make some.

I had yet to use the griddle side of the Lodge Reversible Grill/Griddle, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I followed the directions on the back of the Bisquick box and made a couple. It was such a letdown. They tasted like Bisquick. I forgot that I used to use Alton Brown’s instant mix, and it was delicious. It takes a bit more work, but worth it.

I am not going to let this keep me from having delicious pancakes that satisfy me. I figure breakfast for dinner is in my future. Does anyone have a brand of pancake mix they suggest?
