Finally, here are the details for the Battle of the Bands at State Theatre. The spots are going quick and the concerts are coming up fast, so please email or myspace right away if you are interested.

4 Primary Concerts (February 8th, 9th, 22nd, 23rd)
20 Bands
5 Bands per Primary Concert (30 minute set for each band)

1 Finale Concert (March 7th)
4 Bands (1 Qualifying Band from each Primary Concert)

Judging
The winner of each concert will be determined by two, evenly weighted, categories:
Judges’ Score: A panel of judges will rate your performance according to a scorecard provided by State Theatre based on the input of local musicians and industry folk.
Audience Support: You will get two chances to stimulate the audience. Audience support will be judged by a digital decibel meter reading, projected live on the big screen.
*Note. The lineup will be determined based on ticket pre sales. The band with the most pre sale tickets will get first choice, then second most and so on.

Registration
State Battle of the Bands is open to Nebraska based bands. We require a $100 investment (registration fee) from each band. The entirety of your band registration fee goes directly to Box Awesome Entertainment for sound and lighting production at your primary concert. Also, the registration fee assures the venue that you will do you best to bring your fans, family and friends into the concert. I call it an investment because each band receives 30 complimentary tickets to their primary concert upon registration. The tickets have a face value of $5 (the cover charge for the concert). So, you actually get $150 worth of tickets. Plus, you can buy more pre sale tickets at a discounted rate of $3 per ticket.
