Next door to Geno’s / intoxicants on 11th and G street there will be a bakery from the rumors the Geno’s guys say. There is a dunpster there and paper on the windows so something is going on in there. Would love to be able to pick up a nice loaf on the way home from work each day.

The new bakery will be on the north side and if I remember correctly Mettlers was on the south side of the little strip mall.
I am hoping it is like a La Quartier. I just want a decent bagguette without having to go to open harvest.

If I had any gambling money, I would wager it will be a Mexican bakery, which would be the most awesome thing to happen to our neighborhood since the coffee house.
When my sister lived in Houston there was a Mexican bakery we’d stop and get bread/sweet rolls for the week. It was fantastic.
