I would not buy one myself, but am really enjoying using it as my workstation currently. My main badass workstation's graphics card died so I am using the air for now. Is my first experience with the apple OS and I love how close it is to linux with its base in unix. The lack of a Optical drive and only one USB irk me something fierce. My main reservation was the keyboard, but it gets easy to use really fast. This is coming from a Motorola Q. I think I can actually type faster using the iPhone keyboard. Very impressive.
