Tropicana Pure Raspberry Acai. Lies in a fancy bottle
28 Comments · Posted by beerorkid in random crap
Man the commercial makes this stuff look awesome. But the real product, or at least what I picked up tonight was thick and ultra pulpy. It has Apple. acai, banana, and raspberry juice. Apparently not filtered. The juice is thick and looks like the sample Austin Powers drinks of fat bastard’s fecal sample. But the taste is a fricking mazing. Really it is awesome. Very impressed, but the commercial lies.

Believe me what you just drank is only a small part of a movment across the US for better health foods. I’d rather eat an ugly orange that I picked in the wild rather than the crap they sell at the store. But I can’t find wild fruit at any super market. I found this product Mona Vie and it is amazing stuff. If you liked the tropicana YOU’LL love the Mona Vie.

Mona Vie sponsors my coach; their acai juice and products are the best on the market!
whole foods has an acai sherbet that will make you cream your jeans. it’s by far my favorite sherbet flavor ever! acai anything is amazing. try and find it on it’s own, it’s a great taste!

I’m sorry but Tropicana should be sued. I’m visiting from the UK and they have totally copied this commercial from Marks & Spencers UK. This is a crap copy.

while I agree it does taste amazing, it has NO vitamin C. None. Acai is suuposed to be a great source of Vit C. I’m paying near $5 for little or no nutritional value. I probly would be better off with agua!!!

Mona vie at 40$ a bottle, high price for fruit juice
if you need Vit C add some orange juice!!!
Monavie it just scam.

do you realize that you all are fighting over juice? and for the stupid people who keep posting harshly negative comments, grow up and go somewhere else to bark your worthless comments, no one wants them here. And how, may i ask, is tropicana stealing this from the f’n UK? lame. and if you’re dissatisfied with the “no vit c” buy your juice elsewhere and stop complaining. no one forced you to buy this particular juice. holy crap. stop complaining about useless issues.

Is anyone else supremely annoyed and turned off by the commercial itself?
Admin comment by beerorkid · June 17, 2008 at 4:35 pm
the sexy voice and the splashing are a bit lame.

Monavie costs $132.00 for a case of four 25.8 ounce bottles. It tastes great but I can get plenty of $33.00 bottles of Red Wine that are also going to taste great. Monavie is very expensive because of the pyramid payment system that they pay their distributors. The rich are getting much richer at the exoense of the common man. Many other Acai products that are excellent for you at less than 50% of the cost. Google Acai and you will me much better off.

MonaVie also has 30 times the antioxidant levels of red wine. You would get sick drinking that much wine to try to achieve the same levels. For about $4 a day with MonaVie you are getting the best free radical protection you will get unless you eat more than 13 servings of fruits/veggies.

I googled a comparison of Mona Vie and Tropicana..I really want to know which (including others) is the best deal for my $. I used Mona Vie for about 6 months and, I admit, my hair, nails and strength skyrocketed. I’m 58 but I felt like 38. All the aches and pains disappeared…truly. I stopped ordering it, however, because of the expense. I’m looking for a viable alternative that won’t ‘break the bank.’ Any suggestions?

It is just juice folks. I mixed mine with vodka.

Jeebus can you just close comments on this post or something? I’m convinced that half these people are just working for one company or the other in some sort of fruity “viral blog-keting” campaign.

Damn, I clicked on this to read people’s opinions on the TROPICANA juice, not to be hit over the head with some other brand.
Douchebag · June 25, 2008 at 8:05 am
To the person posting regarding 30X the antioxidants, get a clue! Most of those will push through the body as poop because your body doesn’t make that level of antioxidants bioavailable.
Eat some chocolate, drink some wine and enjoy your juice.

The acai berry has the highest ORAC value of any food in the world as Far as I know. The product I use has an ORAC value of over 25,000 per serving and is well worth the money for the free radical antioxidant protection, evebn better than Monavie as it has 100 other ingredients as well. You can NOT get ANY pure acai juice for less than $30 a quart anywhere. I use acaiplus which you can get if you want at my website at ninjaproven.com

So far every acai drink or juice I’ve tasted has been nasty, even in Brazil. Anything that is an acai smoothie or real thick like the above mentioned tropicana has been great. Smoothie king has an Acai adventure smoothie for anyone who would like to try it. Also a brand called Naked has an acai drink that is halfway decent, it’s by the refrigerated fruits in grocery stores.

Try Sambazon Acai Juice Drink. it is very good.

I looked for this product for a couple months before finally finding it. I told my wife that I just wanted to buy some so I could pour it in the glass like they do on their beautiful commercial. When I finally found it over this last weekend I was sure it wasn’t the same product as in the advertisement.
If they used what I bought to film the commercial they would not sell any of it, but looks are deceiving and this stuff taste great.

I tried this a couple weeks ago, and when I read the ingredients acai was one of the last ones on there and it was made from concentrate. I think mostly the juice was made from apple concentrate and banana pulp, with added raspberry and acai flavoring. It was ok, but it wasn’t as yummy as Tropicana’s other fruit juices, and it had a weird, gritty texture to it like dirt. I didn’t see any increased energy or weight loss while I was drinking it.
