The dutch oven chronicles
We got this dutch oven and wanna figure out how to use it. We picked out 3 easy meals we think we can adapt to work in the dutch oven. Chicken was first. The plan was to use some veg to make a nice base for the chicken. Even used 1/4 of an onion. I figured a slow cook would rule, but I forgot that chicken only has to be to temp and slow cooking was not really gonna do much. Well by the time I pulled the chicken out the wings fell off from gravity. I put a bit of wine and chicken broth in the pot before it started cooking. The liquid made a gravy which spoiled us. It was simply amazing.
The chicken was pretty much drained of any flavor from the long cooking. Still I think we can lessen the time and make this again and again.





Man, looks delicious…you guys eat like royalty!

Oh man we love to make our own food from scratch.
We do eat pretty well also. Not much gets wasted, which is nice. The leavings of that bird got made into some awesome pressure cooked stock which will make some fine gravies down the road.
Tonight is beef stew in the dutch oven. been simmering in the oven all afternoon.

[...] were in a hurry so we roasted the chicken on the grill instead of the dutch oven with veg way. I got creative and jammed some aromatic veg in the cavity. Did not do much though [...]
