Economy and Performance auto repair impresses me again

My first experience with them went well, the second time was even better. a month or so ago I took the car to get some new rubber on it at a tire store and they did a normal check of stuff and told me I needed a new radiator. I had many issues with the radiator in the past. I just took their word and figured I needed it replaced. I wanted to go to E&P again so we saved up some $ and needed a clutch master cylinder replaced as well.

So dropped off the car and waited for a call. He called and basically said “you do not need a new radiator”, saving me some serious money. I found that to be pretty cool. They could of easily replaced it since I was convinced it needed it, but they were honest about it. I know I can trust them from now on.

  1. They nursed my ailing car for a long time, and I only had good experiences. I have been through 2 mechanics since moving to Omaha. Both of them eventually tried to rip me off. I will be trying a third soon, I just found out.

    Man, I miss them.

  2. Joe,

Try HAVERS Service Center in Omaha. Good, HONEST, PEOPLE. He was my neighbor for years.

Tell them that Ray sent you!

  5. Hmmm … wonder where you got your tires? I used to take my car to a local (with several locations) tire shop for basics like rotation, slow leaks, etc. ’cause it was right across the street from my work. Every time without fail, they’d come back with a laundry list of things that needed fixing. The last time I was in they told me I desperately needed new shocks and that if I didn’t replace them, it soon would lead to other damage. I happened to need to take my car in to DuTeau for a bigger problem shortly after that. I had them check out the shocks. They said they were fine. I’m done with that local tire shop.

  8. I like that little place on 33rd and Cornhusker. Lincolnlube and Metgzers (they’re attached.) They’re definitely more than fair and honest. They’ve had the chance multiple times to charge me $200+ fees when I was convinced of the problem and instead worked on it for five minutes and didn’t even charge me.

    Good folks.

  9. I hate Walker Tire. Them and those ripoff bastards at the chain break/shock stores.

  • Meh.....

A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.
