Deputies investigate deer shooting in wilderness park

hat tip to FFL
This is so fricking lame on so many levels. I was in wilderness during that time. Think I am gonna have to wear a flak jacket out there. That is two shootings out there in less than a year.
Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a deer being shot from the road Sunday afternoon at Wilderness Park.
Two witnesses saw it happen shortly before 4:30 p.m. near First and Calvert streets. When deputies arrived, they saw a white-tailed deer, southeast of the intersection, trying to crawl away.
One of the deputies shot the deer.
Witnesses said they saw two men wearing orange hunting jackets in a green ’90s model, short-box Chevrolet truck at the intersection. The driver leaned out of the pickup window and shot the deer with a long rifle, according to an incident report.
Then the truck sped away.
The sheriff’s office has no suspects.

that truck that sped away nearly killed me on rokeby road. and guess who called one of the reports?! *points to self* yeah, i heard it all go down. and the idiots were wearing hunting gear. apparently they didn’t think about the fact that they have to track the deer after they kill it, and wearing hunting gear in wilderness where it’s CLEARLY MARKED: NO HUNTING … not very bright.
driving around and shooting deer is NOT how you hunt. hunters in this state can be so friggin’ stupid it’s not even funny. and especially in this case. f***ing idiots.
i hope that deer didn’t go to waste. i’ve heard a lot of hunters out here just shoot to kill, they don’t actually eat the meat. that’s the most retarded thing i’ve ever witnessed hearing. sinceless killing of animals and then letting the meat go bad.
i could go on for days about stupid s*** like this, but im going to go to bed instead.

I have to agree with the levelheaded commenter’s on LJS, these guys were douches and not your normal hunters.
Cool you helped.

No they weren’t. You can pay around $80 to have the deer processed and have a freezer full of meat for the winter. That’s a no brainer to me.

$80 is only for the processing, you have to gut and remove the meat from the carcus … i don’t have a large enough freezer … and dragging the deer behind my bike for 20 miles just seemed a little counter-intuitive. LOL!

I would not mind having a huge spear on the front of my bike to get me a deer.
Just like if you hit one with your car you can keeps it.
but that might be a bit dangerous
