best bacon around these parts?

So last night a friend called me and wanted to know where he could get some good bacon. he was going to make some bacon wrapped shrimp, drooool……. I did not have an answer. It hit me pretty hard. I mean some folk look to me for their bacon knowledge, heck even NASA. T was disappointed in me as well “your Lincoln’s bacon master” (or something like that).
So I will embark on a quest to find the most bestest bacon available for purchase in this fine city. Anybody got any suggestions? I do plan on mentioning farmers market bacon, but I do not think it will be included in the rankings unless I can find it at a store somewhere.

there are sooo many meat markets in Omaha. I have yet to try any though.

To be honest, Super Saver has good bacon. In their stores’ meat sections they have the meat they smoke themselves and they sell the bacon slabs. Then you can slick it as thick or thin as you want it. It’s been very good when I’ve tried it.

SS makes some good jerky. It seems to be different at each location. 48th & O has really thin strips with bunches of salt and perrer. More of a crunchy. 27th and Pine Lake have a chewier flavor and there is some strange ingredient that makes it taste different. They also make ground / formed jerky that is all right. Even buffalo every now and then.
I have tried the slab bacon from the 48th and O I think. I can’t recall what I thought of it. I think I cut it a bit too thick. But as in jerky, I bet the bacon is a bit better at one of the locations.
We hit every SS too find the one we liked the best. We currently hit up the 27th and Pine lake.
