T will only eat valentinos, I get really tired of it. So she had to make her spaghetti sauce and did not feel like cooking eventhough it was her turn. Anyway after giving me some options for what to get to eat, I suggested Davinci’s or Pappa Johns. She will eat their cheesestix so I was set. We both worked there, it is where we met, and I ate the crap out of that stuff and could still. (backstory here and here) Dam it was good and I get leftovers for lunch. Thanks papa.
But Valentino’s doesn’t have the garlic butter oil saturated trans-fat dipping sauce!
Val’s is very sugary to me, but I do like it. There, I said it.

I’ve never understood the infatuation Lincolnites have with Val’s. My understanding of the “Valentino’s Myth” is that it was once very good in the past (“in the past” being the operative phrase here), but now mainly coasts on nostalgia. Then again who am I to judge – I like White Castle and most people hate it.
Anyway, my favorite pizza place in town is Neros.

That would be correct Mr. T assessment of Valentino’s. It was once a classy sit-down joint, probably about 20-25 years ago. I like it but it’s not my favorite here in town.
