The food industry truly is nauseating. You are right - ALWAYS be super nice to your server or for that matter anyone you encounter wearing a uniform. My sister-in-law manages a major fast food chain and, although she makes good money, its a horrible job. I remember working at a (not to be named) fried chicken franchise back when they still had the cooks cut the chicken. People were cutting themselves like crazy and it was absolutely disgusting. That chain has since stopped doing it and now sends the chicken pre-cut so kids don't cut off their fingers. Plus we also had to remove the gizzards and send it back to them (no doubt to resell to some other vendor). Gross. By the way I hit White Castle when I was up in the Twin Cities over the break.
