Maggie’s wraps recieved a Downtown Business leadership Award

Maggie Pleskac owner of Maggie’s Vegetarian Wraps won the Entrepreneurial Retailer Award, one of two new award categories this year. As the owner of a Haymarket dining spot, now in its sixth year, Maggie Pleskac has grown a business based on her commitment to serving fresh, healthy food produced by local vendors. Maggie is a board member of Open Harvest and has helped develop markets for immigrant farmers who are new Lincoln citizens through the Community CROPS program.

Spiced Candied Pecans
2 1/2 cups raw pecans
1 large egg white, lightly beaten
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, stir the pecans with the egg white.
In a small bowl, stir together the sugar, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Pour over the nuts and stir until evenly coated.
Spread in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
Slide parchment paper (with nuts still on it) off of the baking sheet and onto a wire rack (or the counter) to cool.
Break nuts up into a bowl to serve or store at room temperature in an airtight container.

any yall watch it?

So I have a linksys wireless router. Worked great with my linksys wireless card on the laptop in windows. But I do not use windows on the laptop. Wireless in linux is always been a problem. Why should a wireless product producing company cater to the 5% of us who use linux? Cuz we will buy your fricking crap, duh. Case in point, Nvidia has the linux market cornered because they supply drivers in linux for their cards.

Anyway I was lucky enough to borrow the legislatures belkin card for a night to see if it would work in edgy eft ubuntu. Oh man does it work. According to the wiki, “works right out of the box with no configuration”, they were right.

Belkin F5D7010 Wireless G Notebook Card from newegg for $20 and my laptop is fricking wireless baby.

Man I love ubuntu and am severely bummed by linksys. you have lost my biz.
